Wow....

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted anything on my blog! I have been extremely busy with school, and work has been crazy the last month because of the procrastinator's tax deadline (those who got 6-month extensions and still waited until the last second to bring in their tax information). Anyway, life seems to be going pretty good for me. If you would just take out all of the bills in my life, I would say that I would be doing great. But, bills seem to take all the fun out of everything. Seems like all I can do right now is work and pay bills. Fun stuff? Yeah right - can't afford it. Well, I can afford it if I could put in on plastic. But, we all know that plastic is not the way to go. Interest sucks.....

School.....well I can't wait until it's over. I have graduated high school and college, but somehow I find myself going back for more school! School stresses me out. School is just not the same with a wife and baby. I kinda (emphasis on kinda) enjoyed school before I had a family. But, now that I have a family, it is hard to balance everything. Luckily, I can do most of my schoolwork on my lunch breaks at work. But, I still have to think about all that I have to do - even when I'm home. I think because of school I get stressed about everything - mainly not having enough money to pay bills. But.....a new job might be in my future!! I have applied for another job, so we will see how that goes...

I was just sitting here thinking.....I am going to be a dad again really really soon!! I know, I am already a dad twice, but the baby will be here in about three months. That is soooo crazy to think about. I mean, just yesterday Becca and I were traveling the world by ourselves. Now, everytime we get out of the house it is an adventure. Oh, and traveling the word.....that money is going to the local hospital. Every single month we send money over there. I am afraid that I will be sending money over there the rest of my life. That would suck. Maybe I should get a job over there. Do you think if I got a job that they would wipe my bill clean? That would be cool. I doubt it though......

Well, I am hoping to keep the blog updated more than I have lately. I have some cute pics of Maddie and her cousins that I need to post. Maybe I will do that soon......

Ethics.....

Well, school is off to a fast start. In the first 4 days of school, I have read 150 pages of pointless crap that is making my head hurt. On top of that, I have had to discuss some ethical dilemmas with people who do not believe in God. Let me share.....

Ok, so my Ethics class is about ethics as compared to Socrates and Plato. Well, this first story I read talked about piety, which is basically morality. The question was posed in the story: "Is it right because God commands it, or does God command it because it is right." My professor went on to say, that there is no way that someone can say that it is right because God commands it. First off, back in Socrates and Plato's day, they believed in many gods. So, my professor holds that theory - there are many gods. What a horrible theory, right? Anyway, my professor's argument is that you cannot say it is right because God commands it because God could command that rape, murder, and child molestation is right. Even more horrible of a theory, right? I couldn't believe that someone would think this. So.... without throwing a lot of religion into the mix, I was trying to think of how I could argue this point. I decided to google the definition of god/God. According to Princeton University, the definition of god/God was a supernatural being that is perfect and omnipotent. I already know that since God is perfect, he would not command that rape, murder, and child molestation is right. But, this is exactly the definition I needed - from a well-known, non-christian university - to make my argument legitimate. So, regardless of your beliefs in gods/God, taking this defintion from Princeton, you cannot tell me that a god/God would command rape, murder, or child molestation. The definition itself includes the word perfect. Rape, murder, and child molestation is not perfect. Several of my classmates have replied to my posting, but my instructor has not. I am not sure if he will post anything, but I have a feeling this class is going to make me mad a lot. I really can't throw a lot of religion into my arguments, because it is not a religion class. But, I am definitely going to argue something totally isane as the comment "there is no way someone can say that it is right because it is commanded by God." It is right because it is commanded by God!!!

School....

So.... school is almost here!! Wohoo!! I am taking some college classes again. I am going to Richland Community College, and I'm taking 13 credit hours. Why you might ask? Well, I'll tell you, but I might bore you with the details. But hey, my life is boring, and yours is too if your reading this. :) Anyway, according to the Illinois Board of Accounting (yawn), in order to sit for the CPA (that is Certified Public Accountant - told you I would bore you with the details) exam, the candidate must have 150 credit hours from an accredited university. Well, I graduated from the University of Illinois at Springfield with 123 credit hours. So, I must go back to an accredited institution to get 27 more credit hours. Once I receive those credit hours, I can then start studying for and then take the CPA exam. Doesn't that sound fun? Well, not really. But, it will pay off - literally. Until then, though, I am taking donations for my CPA fund. You see, every time you take the CPA exam, it costs over $1,000 dollars. Some people have to take the test 3 or 4 times. Plus, the study materials are expensive as well. One day, all of this might be worth it!

I am hoping that taking these college courses will help with my boredom here at work. All the classes are online, so there will be a lot of discussion board communication. I can do all of that during the day. The classes I am taking are as follows: Art Appreciation, Music Appreciation, History (up to the Reformation), & Intro to Ethics. All of these classes are 100 level classes, so they are fairly easy. They do require papers, but the papers will not be graded to difficultly because, in their mind, I have not taken English yet. :) It'll be fun.

Well, back to my busy day at work. Hehe.

My baby girl....

Guess what? Yep, you're right. I'm bored. It is Thursday, so at least the weekend is almost here. Tomorrow I get to go to St. Louis! That sounds really exciting, except it really isn't! I have to get up at 4:45am and get to work about 5:30am just so my boss can drive us down to a boring seminar. The seminar is over by the St. Louis Airport. I would rather watch planes take off and land than have to go to the seminar. Maybe I can work that out. :) Anyway, I have some new pics of my beautiful daughter. Supposedly, she looks just like me - so what does that say about me!! ;) J/k

This is one of my all-time favorite pics of Maddie. She definitely has a very cute personality. She loves her sunglasses!! She looks like a little movie star. And check out that halter top!! :)

This is Maddie in her little Cardinal cheerleader outfit! We took her to her first Cardinal game on the Saturday before Memorial Day. She made a build-a-bear Monkey that is dressed in almost the same exact outfit. It plays "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and make monkey noises. Go Cardinals!!!

Becca said that Maddie was being a brat in this picture. So, she gave her a mohawk to match her personality. Contrary to what some might think, Maddie does have a very crabby side! :)

This picture is at Maddie's first Cardinal game. Becca had always wanted a big finger, and she finally got it!!!

The three of us at the Cardinal game.

Maddie's first birthday party. Mmmmm.... Icing!!!!!!!!!!

Grandma with Maddie Rose. Contrary to what Grandma might think right now, Maddie loves her to pieces.
This is all the picture for now. Don't worry, there will be more later! I promise. I am a very proud daddy, so I will be sure to keep everyone updated on Maddie. I can't hardly believe she is a year old already! She is walking all over as well. Kids just grow so fast.
Until next time.....

The Boring Day.....

So..... why did I start this blog? As you might guess, I was bored. Sometimes the life of an accountant can be boring. Well.... let me rephrase..... most of the time the life of an accountant can be boring. It does pay the bills, though. Life just doesn't turn out like you think it will while you are in highschool! Back then, I remember the excitement of choosing a career. The misconception was that once I was done with college, my job would not just be a job. That is what colleges try to make you think. Come here, pay us at least $20,000, and we will give you a job that you will love every day of your life. WRONG! My job turned out to just be a job. I might somewhat like what I do, but that does not mean my job is any less of a job. I still have to wake up and get ready to go to work. I still have to work with people I don't really like. All in all, my job is just a boring job. If you are still in college, or looking forward to going to college, I hope I didn't burst your bubble. You probably won't believe me anyway. I didn't believe those people who told me the same thing.

I am currently at work just wasting time writing this blog. The good part of my job is that during the summer I am not busy. Is that good? Sometimes. I like not being overworked, but sometimes the day just drags by if you are underworked. Playing games online can get old. At least I have a lunch break in the middle of the day to go home and see my wife and baby. That never gets old.

Well, I better get back to doing nothing. Hope your day isn't half as boring as mine!
